Purchased this unit in 2010 as an extension to our gas H20 boiler. We are extremely happy with the stove. We heat 2,300 sq ft of living space and an 80 gal H20 tank. When the temps fall below 0 degrees, we flip on the gas furnace for an hour to bump up the heat. We burn 7 - 8 tons per year of mostly hardwood. These units are not for everyone though. They do require continued maintenance and cleaning for optimum performance. There is a learning curve once installed. Some basic mechanical skills are required for maintenance. Supply of spare parts is a good idea. We clean the burn box, ash tray and flame arrestors every 7-10 days. I sift the fine ash out of the hot coals with a metal strainer twice daily. I built a pellet sifter which I pour the pellets over to sift out the fines before filling the hopper. I spend about 20 min/day and an hour every 7 - 10 days in maintenance and cleaning. This added time has kept the stove performing optimally. Pellets ROCK!
